In a recent announcement, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, revealed that the company is deploying its new Cybertrucks equipped with Starlink terminals to aid the areas in Los Angeles and Malibu affected by wildfires.

The Cybertrucks, stationed at key locations such as the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department in Altadena, Pasadena, Zuma Beach, and Malibu, will be used to provide power and free WiFi to areas lacking connectivity. The huge battery of the Cybertruck is capable of powering Starlink for an extended period, making it a crucial asset in emergencies as regular cell towers often go down.

Starlink, a satellite internet service provided by SpaceX, has proven to be a valuable resource during emergencies, ensuring uninterrupted communication and internet access.

Several Cybertrucks are also stocked with essentials like water and snacks to support the affected communities. The deployed Cybertrucks will be positioned in a grid pattern in the greater LA/Malibu area, forming a network of mobile base stations to support the recovery efforts.

In addition to the Cybertrucks, Tesla is also installing Mobile Powerwall Units in Altadena and Topanga Canyon, in partnership with nonprofits. These units will provide backup power to the affected areas.

Elon Musk also addressed the customers awaiting Cybertruck deliveries, apologizing for the delay and promising that new vehicles will be delivered by the end of the week.

Furthermore, Tesla is providing housing, meals, and transportation to its employees who have lost their homes due to the wildfires. Most Tesla Supercharger stations are operational, except for one in Pasadena.

This initiative by Tesla underscores the company's commitment to supporting communities in times of crisis and demonstrates the potential applications of its innovative technology in emergency situations.
