In the troubled northeastern region of Nigeria, Boko Haram has once again wreaked havoc, conducting fresh attacks in Darajamal Community of Bama local government area and Monguno local government area of Borno State.

Senator Ali Ndume, a prominent voice in the Nigerian Senate, has called for increased security measures to combat the insurgency effectively. He emphasised the need for more personnel, better weapons, improved intelligence, and cooperation with security forces.

The Senator expressed his sympathies towards the government and people of Borno State, particularly the families of the victims, including soldiers and Immigration officers, who lost their lives in the attacks. He lamented that several communities in the Borno South, North, and Central Senatorial Districts have been under siege from Boko Haram attacks in recent times.

Senator Ndume also advocated for the establishment of Armed Community Defense to supplement the efforts of the military in Borno State. He highlighted the limitations of the Men of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), hunters, and vigilantes, who are only armed with den guns and sticks.

In a separate call, the Senator urged the federal government to prioritise the security, safety, and welfare of all Nigerians in this trying moment. He also called for the deployment of Technology, Equipment, Arms and Ammunition, Motivation (TEAAM) to end Boko Haram atrocities not only in Borno, North East, but also in other parts of the country.

The attack in Darajamal resulted in the deaths of 5 soldiers and 58 civilians, with an unspecified number of women and girls abducted. Over 30 Boko Haram attackers were killed in Darajamal by ground troops and Air Component.

Senator Ndume commended the troops of 'Operation Hadin Kai' and other security agencies for their sacrifices in making Borno safe and peaceful. However, he did not specify any specific actions taken by the federal government or the Nigerian Military in response to the recent Boko Haram attacks in Borno State.

Two Immigration Officers were killed in the attack in Monguno. The Senator did not mention any specific actions taken by the federal government or the Nigerian Military in response to this attack.

In conclusion, Senator Ali Ndume's calls for increased security measures, the establishment of Armed Community Defense, and the deployment of TEAAM are a testament to his commitment to ending the Boko Haram insurgency in Borno State and ensuring the safety and welfare of all Nigerians.
