The Delhi Premier League Eliminator between West Delhi Lions and South Delhi Superstarz concluded with a thrilling performance from Nitish Rana, who scored an unbeaten 134 off just 55 balls, including 8 fours and 15 sixes. However, the match was not without its share of drama off the field.

During the Lions' chase, a heated exchange between Rana and Digvesh Rathi took place. The incident began when Rathi pulled out of releasing one delivery, to which Rana mockingly played a sweep shot in response. This seemingly light-hearted moment escalated as Rana charged at Rathi and gave him a mouthful before Rathi's teammates intervened.

Both Rana and Rathi were fined for their actions. Rana was fined 50% of his match fee for using a gesture that is obscene, offensive, or insulting, and Krish Yadav, a teammate of Rana, was fined his entire match fee for using audible obscenity and pointing the bat towards an opposing player. Rathi, on the other hand, was fined 80% of his match fee for actions deemed contrary to the spirit of the game.

In addition to the fines, Digvesh Rathi and Nitish Rana were handed a one-match suspension by the Delhi Premier League as an identity-based punishment before they could play in the next game. Bharti, another player, was also fined 30% of his match fee for using audible obscenity.

With the Eliminator behind them, West Delhi Lions will now face East Delhi Riders in Qualifier 2 on August 30. The winner of this match will play Central Delhi Kings in the final on August 31.

Meanwhile, Mathur was fined 50% of his match fee for using language, actions, or gestures that could provoke an aggressive reaction from another player. The league continues to uphold its commitment to maintaining a fair and respectful environment for all players.
