Seventeen-year-old Zangar Nurlanuly has made history, advancing to the quarterfinals of the Junior US Open. This marks a significant milestone in his career and the biggest achievement to date.
The Kazakhstan Tennis Federation's press service reported the congratulations given to Nurlanuly on Sept. 3. Bulat Utemuratov, president of the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation, personally congratulated the young tennis player following his milestone achievement.
In the third round of the Junior US Open, Nurlanuly defeated Oskari Paldanius, the tournament's sixth seed and a tennis player from Finland who is ranked world No. 8 in the ITF Juniors rankings.
Nurlanuly will face a tough challenge in the quarterfinals, as he will compete against an 18-year-old left-handed tennis player from Russia named Timofei Derepasko. Derepasko is also participating in the 2025 US Open juniors and is set to play against Nurlanuly in the boys' singles round of 16. He also competed in boys' doubles at the same tournament.
