Ten years after its initial release, Life is Strange is set to make its transition to television as a streaming series.
Life is Strange, the critically acclaimed narrative-driven video game series developed by Don't Nod, is set to make its transition to the small screen. Amazon Prime Video will be the platform for this exciting new adaptation.
Dmitri M. Johnson, the founder and CEO of dj2 Entertainment and the mind behind Story Kitchen, will serve as an executive producer on the show alongside Charlie Covell. Johnson's production company, Story Kitchen, is also involved in producing the TV adaptations of Tomb Raider, Split Fiction, and It Takes Two for Amazon.
Covell, who has previously worked on Netflix's Kaos and The End of the F***ing World, will be the writer, executive producer, and showrunner for Life is Strange. Johnson will be joined by Story Kitchen's Mike Goldberg and Timothy I. Stevenson as executive producers on the show. Covell described helming the Life is Strange show as "a huge honor."
The production team for the Life is Strange show has not yet announced a start date for filming or a release date. The adaptation will retell the story of the first game in the series, originally released in 2015, which is known for its significant impact of player choice.
While the production details are still under wraps, it's clear that the Life is Strange TV adaptation promises to be an exciting venture. As we wait for more updates, fans of the series can rest assured that the show is in capable hands.
Outside of his writing work, Stevie Bonifield, a freelance tech journalist specializing in mobile tech, gaming gear, and accessories, has interests in indie games, TTRPGs, and custom keyboards. However, Bonifield is not directly associated with the Life is Strange show.
Johnson's past work includes co-producing all three Sonic the Hedgehog movies and serving as an executive producer on Netflix's Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft. The production team for the Life is Strange show has not revealed any information about other projects that Story Kitchen or Dmitri M. Johnson are currently working on.
