Hundreds of emergency responders and volunteers combed the area until the wee hours, with police helicopters flying over the town center of Brakel, and divers scouring a nearby stream. At 8:30 p.m., a tip from a hospital in Fritzlar, Hesse, set off a chain reaction. Cops zeroed in on the hospital, and clues led to a red van, remembered by a local schoolgirl.

At around 4 a.m., detectives tracked down the suspect located 250 kilometers away in Simmern, Hunsrück. The suspect is under interrogation. The police plan to release more details soon. Livia was reunited with her parents.
