Broadcast service YouTube TV threatens to remove Fox channels from its lineup if a deal can't be struck.

Television service YouTube TV may discontinue offering Fox channels if a mutually agreeable arrangement cannot be reached.

Fox and Google's YouTube TV have found themselves in a carriage dispute, with the potential for Fox's content, including Fox Broadcast Network, Fox News, and Fox Sports, to become unavailable if an agreement is not reached by 5 PM ET on August 27, 2025.

This latest conflict comes as the networks are using the popularity of football as a bargaining tool against pay-TV providers, who are also losing viewers to cord-cutting. The dispute, however, is not limited to YouTube TV, as Fox's negotiation partner also includes DirecTV.

TV carriage disputes are not uncommon during the late summer, early fall period, particularly during the beginning of the NFL and college football seasons. In 2022, Nexstar Media Group and Verizon Communications had a similar conflict.

As of the beginning of 2025, YouTube TV was estimated to have 9.4 million subscribers, making it the fourth-largest U.S. pay-TV provider after Charter, Comcast, and DirecTV. YouTube TV hopes to reach a mutual agreement without increasing costs for its subscribers.

Fox has launched a "keepfox.com" website to keep viewers updated on the dispute. The network has expressed disappointment with Google's YouTube TV for proposing terms that are out of step with the marketplace. Fox has warned its viewers that they could lose access to their favorite news, sports, entertainment, and local station programming if an agreement is not reached soon.

In a bid to soften the blow, YouTube TV has stated it will provide a $10 credit to subscribers if Fox's content becomes unavailable for an extended period of time. In a positive note, previous disputes, such as the one between Charter Communications and Dish, were settled before the start of the 2023 football season.

As the deadline approaches, viewers are advised to stay tuned to the developments on the "keepfox.com" website for the latest updates. Fox has reiterated its commitment to keeping viewers informed during this time.
