Teenager under the influence crashes car, reported by Polish authorities

In an incident that took place on the night of August 30, 2025, a 15-year-old was involved in a traffic accident with a Touran on Federal Highway 1 near King's Lutter, Wolfsburg. The accident occurred at around 4:55 AM, and the teenager fled the scene.

According to the Wolfsburg Police, concerned witnesses reported seeing the teenager in Süpplingen, appearing disoriented. The damaged Touran without license plates was later found in a ditch on the B1 at the Lelm exit. During the control of the 15-year-old, officers found a car key and two license plates from a car.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the car found in the ditch was the one whose key the teenager had taken from a relative. Officers also detected alcohol on the 15-year-old's breath. A blood sample was ordered by the responsible public prosecutor and taken at the hospital in Helmstedt, which showed a value of 0.9 per mille.

The 15-year-old was later admitted to having been in a traffic accident but could not remember the location. The car was recovered from the ditch by a tow truck and handed over to the owner.

Criminal charges were filed against the 15-year-old for driving without a license, driving under the influence, and leaving the scene of an accident. The 15-year-old was driving from King's Lutter towards Süpplingen and went off the road to the left in a slight left curve at the Lelm exit. The incident remains under investigation.
