Talk about the topic of Asian hornets in a lecture setting
On Thursday, July 17, beekeeping expert Monika Hock-Berchtenbreiter from the Institute for Bee Research and Beekeeping, Veitshöchheim, will be giving a lecture on the Asian hornet at the Family Support Center Schweinheim in Aschaffenburg. The event, which is free to attend, will take place at the Haus für Kinder, Gutwerkstraße 61, starting at 7:30 PM.
The Asian hornet, a species known for its rapid spread, has been making its way along the Bavarian Untermain. This lecture aims to educate the public on how to recognise this species, as well as provide guidance on what to do if a nest is discovered.
Monika Hock-Berchtenbreiter, who is also associated with the Staatliches Gesundheitsamt (State Health Department), will discuss the Asian hornet's characteristics and provide tips on how to identify them. She will also offer advice on how to behave when encountering an Asian hornet.
For more information about the lecture, please contact the Family Support Center Schweinheim at 06021 4497946 or visit their website www.familienstuetzpunkt-schweinheim.de. This event promises to be an invaluable resource for anyone interested in learning more about the Asian hornet and how to protect their surroundings from this invasive species.
