Talented progeny of an Afghan cricket icon achieves first century in his fourth List A competition
Hassan Eisakhil, a 19-year-old cricketing prodigy, has made a significant impact in the world of cricket with his impressive performances in recent tournaments. His List A debut was a memorable one, as he scored a maiden hundred in the format.
Eisakhil began his List A journey last month, making his debut for Mis Ainak Region. In this first match, he displayed his prowess by scoring an impressive 105 runs off 138 balls against Band-Region. This performance was not just a one-off, as Eisakhil went on to score his second fifty-plus List A score on Monday, reaching 100 off 88 balls against Amo-Region.
Prior to his List A debut, Eisakhil had already made a name for himself in the Shpageeza Cricket League. He finished the tournament with 228 runs from eight games, striking at 141 with three fifties. One of his most memorable moments in the league was hitting his father for a first-ball six.
Eisakhil's big score in his fourth List A match came in the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional One Day Tournament. In this match, his team, Mis Ainak Region, scored a massive 349-7 against Amo-Region, with Eisakhil contributing significantly to the total. His innings in this match contained 10 fours and three sixes.
Eisakhil's performances in the 2025 Ahmad Shah Abdali Four-Day tournament were equally impressive. He ended the tournament with 330 runs from four games, averaging 47.14. In this tournament, he managed to score two hundreds, demonstrating his consistency and skill.
Before his List A debut, Eisakhil had already made his mark in first-class cricket. He made his debut in May and scored a hundred in his first game.
Eisakhil's T20 debut came in 2022. While his List A performances have been outstanding, his T20 statistics are yet to be as impressive, with a score of only 7 runs in his third List A match being his lowest in the format so far.
