Sydney Football Club (Sydney Swans) drops Indhi Kirk, son of Brett Kirk, and Robbie Fox as part of four player cuts in their roster alterations
Sydney Swans Bid Farewell to Four Delisted Players
The Sydney Swans have made some significant changes to their list, delisting Indhi Kirk, Robbie Fox, Ben Paton, and Caleb Mitchell at the end of the season.
Leon Cameron, the Swans' head of football, expressed his gratitude for the hard work and commitment of the delisted players. He acknowledged the difficult nature of list decisions and wished them the best for their futures.
Ben Paton, a former St Kilda player, joined the Swans as a delisted free agent at the end of last season. Despite featuring in the first two games of the current season, he was subsequently dropped. Paton played 71 games for St Kilda between 2018 and 2024.
Robbie Fox, one of Sydney's shining lights in the 2022 and 2024 grand finals, played a total of 105 games at senior level. In the 2024 grand final against Brisbane, Fox had 26 touches, and in the 2022 grand final against Geelong, he had 21 disposals and kicked a goal, his last AFL game. Fox's 2025 season was derailed by injury, and the Swans did not renew his contract after his disappointing season.
Fox, a product of the Swans academy, was taken as a category B rookie in 2023 but failed to debut at AFL level. His father, Brett Kirk, won two best and fairests and a premiership across 241 games at the Swans, captaining the club for five years. He was All-Australian in 2004 and is a member of the club's Hall of Fame.
Indhi Kirk, also a product of the Swans academy, was taken as a category B rookie in 2023. Despite this, he failed to debut at AFL level. The Swans did not renew his contract after his disappointing season. Brett Kirk, Indhi's father, is a club legend, winning two best and fairests and a premiership across 241 games at the Swans, captaining the club for five years. He was All-Australian in 2004 and is a member of the club's Hall of Fame.
Cameron specifically remembered Robbie Fox fondly within the footy club. He mentioned Fox's achievement of playing over 100 games for the Sydney Swans. Cameron also acknowledged the significant contributions made by Mitchell, like the other delisted players, to the Sydney Swans.
In a heartfelt farewell, Cameron wished all the delisted players the best for their futures, expressing his gratitude for their hard work and commitment to the Swans.
