Swiss police dismantle illegal poker ring in Uznach raid

The operation began when authorities entered the premises and found an active poker game alongside two slot machines. Over CHF 10,000 in cash was seized at the scene, along with gambling equipment and IT devices.

The venue’s manager was discovered with nearly CHF 5,000 in cash, and a similar amount was recovered from his vehicle. Officers also searched his residence in Rüti, Zurich, as part of the investigation.

The suspect now faces criminal charges for violating Switzerland’s Gambling Act. If convicted, the penalties could include up to five years in prison or significant fines. Authorities have not released further details about the individual involved.

The raid resulted in the confiscation of cash, slot machines, and other evidence. The case will proceed under Swiss gambling laws, which strictly regulate unlicensed casino-style operations. The outcome of the investigation remains pending.
