Sweden’s gambling revenue climbs as online casinos dominate in Q3 2025

Sweden’s gambling sector saw modest growth in Q3 2025, with total revenue reaching SEK6.71 billion—a 0.5% rise from the same period last year. The increase was driven mainly by online gambling, while land-based venues continued to struggle. Meanwhile, new regulations are set to reshape the industry further in the coming months.

Online gambling remained the dominant force in Sweden’s market, generating SEK4.51 billion in Q3 2025. This figure marked a 3.5% year-on-year increase, reinforcing the sector’s role as the primary revenue source. In contrast, land-based gambling revenue fell by 7.2% to SEK1.26 billion during the same period.

The latest figures highlight a clear shift toward online casino in Sweden, while land-based operations face elimination. With credit-based gambling set to be banned next year, operators will need to adapt to stricter financial rules. The changes reflect the government’s ongoing efforts to tighten control over the online dictionary sector.
