In a series of incidents, scammers have been reported in the Central Hesse region, posing as police officers and attempting to swindle residents out of their money.

On Monday evening, July 14, 2025, a couple accompanied by a child entered a single-family house in Leichthammerstraße, Nidda. The police are asking for anyone who noticed this couple or saw any suspicious activity in the area around that time to contact the Friedberg CID under Tel.: 06031 6010.

The callers, pretending to be police officers, tried to convince people about a burglary ring in the neighborhood. However, the police want to clarify that they will never ask for money or inquire about financial situations over the phone. If you are unsure, the police advise consulting family, neighbors, or trusted others before sharing any information.

In a separate incident, suspicious persons with a child were spotted on property in Nidda. The police recommend raising awareness among family and acquaintances about scammer tricks. For more information on protecting against common scams, visit www.police-advice.de.

The Central Hesse Police Headquarters received multiple calls from Florstadt on the same day. In Ober-Mörlen, the scammers used a story of a serious traffic accident involving a relative facing jail time. If you encounter such a situation, the police advise against giving out financial information over the phone and not to let callers pressure them.
