In a series of developments, police in North Thuringia have taken four suspects into custody in relation to an overnight attack that left a man severely injured two and a half weeks ago.
The attack, which occurred in a village near Helbedündorf (Kyffhäuser district), saw all suspects initially fleeing the scene of the crime. A warrant was issued for the arrest of a 23-year-old suspect, who later turned himself in over the weekend.
The 23-year-old suspect is among the four suspects now in custody, with the search for him involving the use of a helicopter and tracking dogs. Another man, not previously mentioned, was temporarily detained and subsequently released.

Despite the arrests, the police have yet to reveal the motive for the attack. The suspects, aged between 20 and 60, are suspected of attacking a 41-year-old man in his home.
