"Surprised by its distinct sound, Bruce Springsteen unveils the Nebraska remake of Born In The USA"
Bruce Springsteen Unveils Electric Nebraska Sessions Version
Bruce Springsteen has announced a new version of his iconic album, "Nebraska". Titled the "Nebraska '82: Expanded Edition", this release includes a remastered version of the original 1982 album, eight tracks from the Electric Nebraska sessions, nine previously unheard Nebraska outtakes, and a live solo acoustic version of the album.
The Electric Nebraska Sessions version of "Born in the U.S.A." was recorded in April 1982 as a three-piece, featuring Springsteen on vocals and guitar, drummer Max Weinberg, and bassist Garry Tallent. They aimed to bring the Nebraska material into an electric, punk-rockabilly style, departing from the album's original acoustic sound.
Disc 2, Electric Nebraska, includes tracks like "Nebraska", "Atlantic City", "Mansion on the Hill", "Johnny 99", "Downbound Train", "Open All Night", "Born in the U.S.A.", and "Reason to Believe".
Disc 3 features a live solo acoustic version of the album, recorded at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ, with songs such as "Nebraska", "Atlantic City", "Mansion on the Hill", "Johnny 99", "Highway Patrolman", "State Trooper", "Used Cars", "Open All Night", "My Father's House", and "Reason To Believe". This disc mirrors Disc 5 (Blu-Ray), which also features the same live solo acoustic version of the album.
Disc 1 of the Expanded Edition contains Nebraska outtakes, including "Born in the U.S.A.", "Losin' Kind", "Downbound Train", "Child Bride", "Pink Cadillac", "The Big Payback", "Working on the Highway", "On the Prowl", and "Gun in Every Home".
Springsteen describes the new version as sounding different from most of his electric work, likening it to punk rockabilly. The new version of "Born In The USA" promises to be a fresh take on a classic anthem.
The Nebraska '82: Expanded Edition is available for pre-order now and will be released on October 17. It will be available in multiple formats, including 4LP/Blu-ray and 4CD/Blu-Ray. Fans can look forward to this exciting reissue of a beloved album.
