New York State Gaming Commission Awards Downstate Casino Licenses
The New York State Gaming Commission is currently in the process of awarding downstate game licenses, with the location being New York itself. Two incumbents in the licensing process are MGM and Resorts World, both of which have participated in public hearings.
The public hearings were offered by the Community Advisory Committee (CAC) and were held on Tuesday night. Poki games Empire City, one of the applicants for a downstate game license, also took part in these hearings.
The Yonkers-based racino, another applicant, had five weeks between hearings for its expansion plans, which cost $2.3 billion. The first CAC session for the Yonkers-based racino was held on Aug 11. The racino's CAC held two mandated sessions as part of the licensing process.
