In the quiet town of Recklinghausen, Germany, a group of suspected fraudsters posing as water workers targeted an elderly woman this morning. The incident, which took place on Gerhard-Hauptmann-Straße, was first reported by the Polizei Headquarters Recklinghausen and later confirmed by news aktuell.

At around 07:30, the fraudsters claimed there was a pipe burst, and one of them managed to gain entry to the woman's apartment by asking for her assistance. While the main suspect distracted the woman, a presumed second offender is believed to have stolen jewelry and cash from the apartment.

The main suspect is described as a stocky man, approximately 1.75-1.80 meters tall, wearing a baseball cap, and aged 30-40 years. As of now, no information about any penalties or convictions received by the perpetrators has been disclosed.

After the supposed workers left, the woman from Haltern am See noticed the fraud and contacted the police. The investigation is ongoing, and the police urge residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
