The City of Arnsberg is gearing up for the Environmental and Climate Protection Award, scheduled for May 2025. This prestigious award, which has been a beacon for climate and environmental initiatives since 1987, is presented in cooperation with Westenergie Company.

The deadline for submitting ideas and project proposals for this year's award is fast approaching, with September 14 set as the final date. Eligible applicants include citizens, associations, companies, schools, and kindergartens within the city of Arnsberg.

The prize money for the award remains at €5,000, a significant incentive for those committed to making a difference in environmental and climate protection. Projects should be either in progress or already completed, and can focus on a variety of themes such as climate protection and energy, environmental protection and adaptation to climate change, sustainable supply, mobility and traffic, and tourism.

Around 450 cities and municipalities participate and award the Climate Protection Prize in cooperation with Westenergie each year. Since its inception, more than 8,000 projects have been honored, a testament to the widespread commitment to environmental and climate protection.
