Struggling Pakoda Seller's Daughter, Deepesh Kumari, Triumphs in UPSC Exams
Deepesh Kumari, a humble IAS officer, hails from a small village in Bharatpur, Rajasthan. Born into a family of seven, Deepesh's journey is a beacon of hope for many, demonstrating that "when there is a will, there is always a way."
Deepesh's father, Govind Kumar, is a vendor who sells pakodas from a cart. Despite the financial challenges, Govind Kumar has been a constant source of support for Deepesh throughout her education.
Deepesh's educational journey began at Shishu Adarsh Vidya Mandir, where she scored an impressive 98% in the 10th class and 89% in the 12th class. She then pursued her B.Tech in Civil Engineering from MBM Engineering College, Jodhpur, and her M.Tech from IIT Bombay.
After completing her M.Tech, Deepesh worked in a private job for a year. However, her ambition to serve the nation was too strong to be ignored. In 2020, she took her first shot at the Civil Service Examination (CSE) conducted by the Union Public Service Commission, but she fell short of her goal.
Undeterred, Deepesh redoubled her efforts and pursued the UPSC CSE with more dedication and perseverance. Her hard work paid off in 2021 when she secured an All India Rank (AIR) 4 in the EWS category and AIR 93 in the general category, clearing the UPSC CSE on her second attempt.
Deepesh Kumari's journey did not end there. After clearing the UPSC CSE, she underwent training and was appointed as an Assistant Secretary in the Road Transport and Highways Department. Deepesh Kumari's inspiring story is a testament to her determination and the power of perseverance.
