Striker Nicolas Jackson's transfer turmoil with Bayern, as he remains set on finishing his loan, despite Chelsea ordering him to return home.
Chelsea Transfer Updates: A Busy Week in the Transfer Market
Chelsea have been active in the transfer market, with several high-profile deals taking place in recent days.
In one of the most significant moves, Noni Madueke joined Arsenal for a fee of £52m. Meanwhile, Renato Veiga was sold to Villarreal for £26m, Djordje Petrovic was snapped up by Bournemouth for £25m, and Joao Felix departed for Al-Nassr at a cost of £43.7m.
Chelsea have also made some shrewd acquisitions, with the £40m signing of Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United. Garnacho expressed his excitement about joining the club, stating, "I can't wait to get started."
However, Chelsea have also seen some players leave, with Marcus Bettinelli joining Manchester City for £2m, Kepa Arrizabalaga moving to Arsenal for £5m, and Carney Chukwuemeka heading to Dortmund for £24m.
The loan move between Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson and Bayern Munich had an option to become permanent for £56m, but the deal is currently off due to an injury to Liam Delap. Delap, who recently joined Chelsea, is expected to be out for 6 to 8 weeks with a hamstring injury.
With Delap injured, Chelsea have decided that they need Jackson to stay as cover for the striker position. However, Jackson and his entourage are adamant that they will do all they can to make the deal go through. Bayern sporting director Max Eberl stated that Jackson is still with the club, and they will act after the match.
Jackson's agent, Ali Barat, is trying to resurrect the move, with reports suggesting that negotiations could restart in the near future.
Chelsea have also strengthened their squad by bringing in Lesley Ugochukwu from Burnley for £23m, Armando Broja for £15m, and Bashir Humphreys for £10m.
Enzo Maresca, the club's boss, stated that the possibility of cancelling Jackson's loan is unknown, and the situation will be monitored closely in the coming weeks.
In other news, Mathis Amougou was sold to Strasbourg for £12.5m, and Diomansy Kamara, a member of Jackson's entourage, posted on Instagram that they are not going back.
As the transfer window draws to a close, Chelsea will be hoping to make a few more shrewd moves to strengthen their squad and challenge for honours in the upcoming season.
