Strengthening Collaboration: Lukashenko's Plan for Enhanced Belarus-China Relations

In a series of informal meetings during his recent trip to China, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko held discussions with more than ten foreign leaders. The meetings, which took place in Tianjin, were a testament to the growing cooperation between Belarus and various countries.

Lukashenko met with Chinese President Xi Jinping, a conversation that he referred to as a significant step in the "true diplomacy of the 21st century." The two leaders discussed large-scale projects being implemented between their respective countries.

During the trip, Lukashenko also met with the leaders of Mongolia, Laos, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Tajikistan, India, Azerbaijan, Myanmar, Russia, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan. These meetings were an opportunity to strengthen existing relationships and explore new avenues of cooperation.

In an interview with Xinhua news agency, Lukashenko stated that Belarus and China support each other on the international stage. He expressed his belief that the cooperation between the two countries will only continue to strengthen.

Interestingly, Lukashenko did not repeat his earlier statement that the U.S. could drive Russia and China apart. This suggests a shift in his rhetoric, perhaps indicative of a more nuanced approach to international relations.

Lukashenko's trip to China was noteworthy for the absence of a meeting with President Joe Biden. Based on available information, no such meeting took place during Lukashenko's visit.

Despite the busy schedule of meetings, Lukashenko also attended a ceremonial reception for delegation heads during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. This multilateral organisation, which includes China, Russia, and several Central Asian countries, provides a platform for cooperation and dialogue on a wide range of issues.

In conclusion, Lukashenko's trip to China was a significant event in Belarusian foreign policy. The meetings with various leaders underscored the importance of Belarus-China cooperation and the potential for further collaboration in the future.
