Street Completely Blocked on Fronhofstrasse, Hürth-Fischenich
In the heart of Hürth, residents and commuters should be aware of some changes to their daily travel plans. Starting Monday, 8th September, there will be a temporary closure on Fronhof Street from 6:00 to 12:00. This closure is due to the installation of a construction crane as part of the expansion of the district heating network in Fischenich.
During this period, the stops "Fronhof Street", "Drafen Street", "Vochemer Street", "Am Bruch", and "Auf der Höhe" will not be served. However, passengers are advised to use the temporary stops set up on Genner Street. One stop is for Hürth Mitte at house numbers 46/48, and the other is for Fischenich Stadtbahn at the corner of An St. Martin.
Buses of line 720 will be diverted in both directions via Genner Street to accommodate this closure. Passengers will be informed via information boards at these stops. For those affected by the construction, written notifications will be provided.
It's worth noting that the local utility company, Stadtwerke Bergheim, is responsible for the expansion of the district heating network in Fischenich, as mentioned in their press release on July 7, 2025.
Despite the temporary disruptions, the regular stops "Rosellen Platz" and "Genner Street" will remain available for use during the construction period. Moreover, all accesses will be free during this time.
Passengers are encouraged to plan their journeys accordingly and to check the information boards for any updates. The city of Hürth apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks everyone for their understanding and cooperation during this important infrastructure upgrade.
