Strategy Document Unveiled for Disaster Management in North Rhine-Westphalia: Potential Advancements Suggested
The Association of Fire Brigades in North Rhine-Westphalia (VdF NRW) has published a strategy paper titled "Disaster Protection in North Rhine-Westphalia," emphasizing the urgency of addressing the tasks outlined within. The paper, published on October 8, 2021, serves as a resource for decision-makers and stakeholders in disaster protection.
The strategic paper, named "Katastrophenschutz in Nordrhein-Westfalen," was created in collaboration with various state and local emergency management authorities and experts from the Ministry of the Interior of North Rhine-Westphalia. It aims to expedite the processing of both known and newly recognized action needs in disaster protection.
The 2021 disaster situation has underscored the importance of addressing urgent proposals promptly. Many experiences from the 2021 flood situation have been incorporated into this strategy paper. The fire services in North Rhine-Westphalia look forward to these discussions with respect and expectation.
Bernd Schneider, Deputy Chairman of VdF NRW, has emphasized this goal in relation to the strategy paper. The paper is intended to stimulate discussions on the advancement of disaster protection and initiate good and constructive discussions on the further development of disaster protection.
The strategy paper can be accessed as a PDF document named "2021-10-08Katastrophenschutz.pdf" on the VdF NRW website. The document, with a size of 2.3 MB, serves as an impulse generator and compendium for decision-makers in the state parliament, state government, regional governments, districts, cities, communities, associations, organizations dealing with disaster protection issues, and journalists.
