Stolen Tricks in Cologne-Ossendorf: Unmasking the Robbery Incident

In a recent incident, a resident of Cologne had a smartphone for sale online, which was stolen in a suspected fraudulent sale that took place at their apartment in Cologne-Ossendorf on August 10.

According to the reports, the seller arranged the sale with a potential buyer who intentionally did not agree on the price and left without completing the transaction. The seller later discovered that the carton contained a different IMEI number and storage capacity, indicating that a swap may have taken place.

The police are currently searching for two men aged 25-30, both described as having short, dark hair, with one having a beard. The suspects are believed to have been involved in the theft. The authorities are urgently seeking witnesses who can provide information about the suspects and/or the method of the crime.

To prevent similar incidents, the Criminal Prevention advises taking certain precautions. It is recommended to meet in a public place for sales negotiations, and to take a trusted person with you. If an item is returned, it is crucial to check that it is indeed yours by comparing its IMEI number, storage size, and other product details with your contract data.

If you find anything suspicious, do not hesitate to contact the emergency number "110". The Criminal Prevention also advises being cautious when handing over or displaying valuable items, such as a smartphone, that have previously been published online with pictures.
