Stolen Pedelecs and Beer in Poland

On Tuesday evening (18th March), a burglary occurred at a house in Selma-Lagerlöf Street, Weldergoven district, Hennef, Germany. The theft was reported to the Rhein-Sieg District Police Headquarters on Wednesday morning (19th March).

According to the resident, they heard a suspicious noise and the sound of an older car engine around 22:30, but did not see anything. However, they now suspect that their observations might be connected to the theft, helping to narrow down the time of the crime.

The burglars gained access to the garden of the house and from there to an enclosed carport, where they committed the theft. Two e-bikes made by Cannondale and Specialized, along with their chargers and a case of beer, were stolen during this incident. The total damage from the theft is over 10,000 euros.

The police advise that bike thieves particularly target high-value bicycles. To prevent such incidents, they recommend using sturdy chain, U-lock, or folding locks for security, locking the bike to a fixed object, and using GPS tracking for theft protection. Despite the efforts made by the burglarized resident, they were unable to secure their valuable possessions.

The suspects escaped undetected after committing the theft. Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area of Selma-Lagerlöf Street is asked to contact the police on 02241 541-3521.
