Stolen: Goods including fishing gear and bike accessories from a basement storage discovered missing
In the heart of Erfurt, Germany, two incidents of theft have left local residents and authorities baffled. Unknown perpetrators broke into two basements in the city between Monday and Tuesday, causing minor property damage and making off with valuable items.
In the Julius-Leber-Ring incident, a "Rockshox" fork worth approximately 300 euros was stolen from a basement compartment. The total value of items stolen in this case is not specified.
The more extensive loss occurred on Erlhof Street, where five fishing rods, two nets, a tent, and other equipment worth over 2,100 euros were stolen from a basement. Damage to the lock was also reported during this break-in.
The Thuringian Police are investigating both cases due to the particularly serious nature of the thefts. The State Police Inspectorate Erfurt Press Office is the contact point for inquiries. The police can be reached at 0361 5743-2100, or emails can be sent to [email protected].
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, unknown offenders broke into a parked Mercedes-Benz Sprinter on Kühnhäuser Straße, stealing tools worth approximately 4,600 euros and forcibly removing both license plates from the vehicle. Additionally, a mail compartment from a mailbox in the Wiesenhügel district, two cash cassettes from vacuum cleaner machines at a gas station on Weimarische Straße, and money from the cash boxes of two vacuum cleaner machines were stolen during the same time frame.
