Stock Market Indicator AGEM Registers a 5% Uptick in August 2025
In August 2025, the global market witnessed a surge in growth, with several major indices recording significant increases.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 4.5 percent, reaching new heights. Eight out of ten Index companies reported positive stock price increases, with Aristocrat Leisure Limited and Konami Corp. leading the way. Aristocrat Leisure Limited's strong performance resulted in a 41.12-point increase in the AGEM Index, while Konami Corp.'s impressive gain added 53.28 points to the same index.
However, not all companies fared equally well. Light & Wonder Inc. was the largest negative contributor to the AGEM Index, with a 4.0 percent decrease in stock price. This decrease resulted in an 8.60-point loss in the index.
Despite Light & Wonder Inc.'s negative impact, the AGEM Index still managed to increase by 93.66 points, reaching 1,983.73. The index saw a remarkable 32.1 percent rise compared to August 2024.
Other notable contributors to the AGEM Index included Broadridge, which saw a significant boost due to its acquisition of the UK digital communications firm Signal. This acquisition strengthened Broadridge's digital capabilities in Europe. On the other hand, Novo Nordisk was the largest negative contributor, with a notably weak stock performance showing a significant decline of around -44.91% over the year and a monthly decline of -4.61% as of September 12, 2025.
The NASDAQ also experienced a 3.9 percent increase in August 2025, while the S&P 500 rose by 3.6 percent compared to the prior period. It's clear that August 2025 was a month of growth and positive movement across the global market.
