Stellantis Vehicles to Integrate SoundHound AI Assistant in Japan's Market this Month
In a groundbreaking move, innovative automotive brand DS Automobiles is leading the charge towards the future of vehicle experiences. This month, the voice assistant named Iris, developed by SoundHound AI, will be available in DS Automobiles in Japan.
Iris, the first in-vehicle voice assistant with integrated generative AI in the world, is set to make its debut in Japan. Powered by the SoundHound Chat AI platform, Iris can handle a wide range of real-time questions about weather, museums, seasonal foods, and their locations in Japan.
The SoundHound Chat AI platform uses proprietary technology called CaiLAN (Conversational AI Language) to efficiently build knowledge domains and control results to provide the best response to the user. This technology allows Iris to respond to a vast range of questions from hundreds of real-time domains and large language models, like ChatGPT.
Moreover, the SoundHound Chat AI platform can integrate with any third-party generative AI model to create a seamless conversational experience. This means that Iris can provide fast, accurate responses to queries without frustrating results.
Iris allows drivers and passengers to use hands-free voice control to access a variety of information and updates, such as navigating, making calls, and accessing parking information. This not only enhances the driving experience but also promotes safety on the road.
SoundHound AI's advanced voice AI is entering the Japanese market for the first time with Iris. Toyota became the first automaker in the world to fully integrate SoundHound Chat AI into production in March 2024, offering vehicles equipped with SoundHound Chat AI in Japan. DS Automobiles, the first automaker to go into full production with SoundHound Chat AI, had an initial rollout in 13 languages across 18 countries at the beginning of March 2024.
According to SoundHound AI, adding generative AI capabilities to in-vehicle voice assistants significantly increases usage frequency. DS Automobiles reported an increase of over 50% in usage frequency after integrating SoundHound Chat AI.
The SoundHound Chat AI platform uses machine learning technology called CaiNet (Conversational AI Network) to better understand queries and provide the right responses. This technology ensures that Iris continues to learn and adapt, providing an even more personalised and efficient user experience over time.
