In a significant development, an appeal hearing has been scheduled for August 27, concerning the transfer of shares in the company "Vector Real" and its subsidiary "SG-Trans" to the state. The initial lawsuit, filed by the Prosecutor General's Office, alleged that businessman Alexei Taycher, former head of Russian Railways' (RZD) operations Salman Babayev, and Babayev's sons, along with "Vector Real" they controlled, siphoned off at least 30.1 billion rubles from RZD structures.

The Oktyabrsky District Court of Yekaterinburg ruled in favour of the Prosecutor General's Office's lawsuit on April 30, 2025. The court ordered the defendants, excluding AO "Federal Freight Company" (FGC), to pay the siphoned amount of 30.1 billion rubles to the state. The money, it was revealed, was used to buy high-liquid assets that were registered in the names of family members and affiliated persons.

FGC, a defendant in the lawsuit, is owned by RZD. It was established in the Sverdlovsk region in 2010. The Prosecutor General's Office had also aimed to transfer the shares of "Vector Real" and its subsidiaries to the state in the initial lawsuit.

As of August 12, 2025, the Russian Federation is the sole shareholder of JSC "Vector Real", represented by Rosimushchestvo. However, there are no available search results providing information about which person or institution acquired the shares of the company "Vector Real" before this date.

The defendants in the lawsuit, apart from FGC, include Alexei Taycher, Salman Babayev, his sons, and "Vector Real" controlled by them. The hearing is an appeal of the earlier ruling in favor of the Prosecutor General's Office's lawsuit. The outcome of this appeal hearing could have significant implications for the future of "Vector Real" and its subsidiaries.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
