Starlink Internet Services, headed by Elon Musk, has expanded to Kazakhstan: understanding the pricing structure of Starlink for Kazakhstan residents

In a significant development, Starlink satellite internet is now available in Kazakhstan, as announced by the Ministry of Digital Development and Aerospace Industry. This groundbreaking technology promises to bring stable internet connectivity to remote and hard-to-reach areas within the country.

For households with low traffic consumption, the Residential Lite tariff is the most affordable option, priced at 23,000 tenge per month. On the other hand, the Residential tariff, priced at 31,000 tenge, is described as the optimal choice for most households. An alternative travel tariff is the unlimited Roam tariff, priced at 52,000 tenge per month. For those with limited data needs while travelling, a Roam 50GB tariff is available for 26,000 tenge per month.

Starlink's equipment costs 104,000 tenge, according to the company's website. It's important to note that this one-time cost is separate from the monthly tariffs.

SpaceX, the company behind Starlink, plans to increase the internet speed of Starlink by 10 times, promising faster and more reliable service in the near future.

The service agreement signed on June 12 by the Ministry of Digital Development requires Starlink to comply with Kazakh laws when providing services. Although the responsibility for ensuring compliance is not explicitly stated, it generally falls under SpaceX, which operates Starlink globally.

Starlink promises internet coverage throughout Kazakhstan, during international travel, and in coastal regions. This means that no matter where you are in the country, you can enjoy the benefits of high-speed internet.

With the arrival of Starlink in Kazakhstan, remote rural schools will also benefit from the technology. Initially intended for the border with China and Russia, 94 Starlink terminals will be redirected to these schools, bringing the digital revolution to the doorsteps of many rural communities.

As Starlink continues to roll out its services across Kazakhstan, it's clear that the country is taking a significant step towards digital transformation and bridging the digital divide.
