Spotify introduces a fresh direct messaging service
Starting this week, Spotify users in selected markets including Latin and South America, with an imminent rollout planned for the USA, Canada, Brazil, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and the European Union (including Germany), can now enjoy a new in-app direct messaging feature.
This exciting update allows users to share music directly with friends and family without the need for external apps. To initiate a direct message, simply tap the share icon while listening to something. From there, you can choose from your contacts to select the recipient.
The new feature is available on mobile devices, making it easy to access and use. To send a message, hit the "send" button. To access your Spotify messages, click on your profile photo in the top left corner of the app.
Users have the choice to accept or reject message requests, providing control over their conversations. Moreover, they can block specific accounts from messaging them, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
One-to-one direct messaging is now available, allowing for private conversations about shared music interests. The age requirement for using the new feature remains 16 years old in select markets, ensuring a responsible environment for all users.
This new feature marks another step forward in Spotify's commitment to enhancing the user experience. Instead of sharing Spotify links through external apps, users can now share music directly within the app, making it easier and more convenient than ever before.
