Sports director of BHC, Gutbrod, states unequivocally: "No opportunities whatsoever, all the time."
In a closely contested match, TVB Stuttgart emerged victorious over Bergischer HC in the latest Handball Bundesliga game. The final scoreline read 34-28, a result that left the home team's Sporting Director, Fabian Gutbrod, expressing disappointment with the first half performance.
Bergischer HC started the game on a shaky note, with Trainer Markus Pütz admitting that the opening phase was not up to the mark. The first 20 minutes were defined by a performance gap, as Stuttgart took a commanding lead. Pütz also mentioned that Bergischer HC did not have a single goalkeeper save in the first half, a stark contrast to their opponents who were in form.
Despite the challenging start, Coach Misha Kaufmann praised the team's performance, commending them for their efforts despite a short preparation. The team showed signs of improvement in the last eight minutes of the first half, playing better according to Pütz, but the deficit remained at six goals.
The second half began with a slight improvement for Bergischer HC, but the team remained without a chance to score. In a crucial moment, the team had two opportunities to reduce the deficit to minus three, but technical errors prevented them from capitalising on these chances.
TVB Stuttgart's Coach, Arnor Gunnarsson, will be the opposition in the next home game week. Kaufmann noted that after 18:10, the team lacked final consistency and let Bergischer HC stay in the game. Pütz acknowledged that Stuttgart deserved the win and the team needs to analyse the game carefully to improve.
Gutbrod emphasised the importance of getting points in the home game against Minden, and acknowledged that Bergischer HC lacked the necessary elements to win a game in the Handball Bundesliga. He also highlighted that the team needs a full training week to draw the right conclusions and bounce back.
As the Handball Bundesliga season progresses, Bergischer HC will be looking to learn from their mistakes and strive for better results in their upcoming games.
