PENN Entertainment, a leading sports and gaming company, has secured a market access deal with Monumental Sports & Entertainment, paving the way for the launch of ESPN BET in Washington D.C. The new sportsbook is now available to sports fans in the District of Columbia, offering them the opportunity to bet on their favourite competitions.

ESPN BET, the brand that replaced Barstool Sportsbook after PENN Entertainment sold the Barstool IP back to its owner David Portnoy, is determined to enter every licensed and regulated market where its operations would be sustainable. The partnership with PENN Entertainment has allowed ESPN BET to be available in 20 jurisdictions across the country.

The sportsbook app offers a range of features to its users, including daily odds boosts, profit boosts, featured parlays, in-play options, exclusive promos, and offers. Account linking between ESPN Bet and ESPN accounts is an option and readily available, providing a seamless user experience.

Aaron LaBerge, PENN Entertainment's Chief Technology Officer, expressed his excitement about launching ESPN BET in Washington D.C. and expanding its presence in the Washington metropolitan area. He emphasised the company's commitment to growing its local footprint at a good clip.

ESPN BET has ventured into some of the toughest markets in the country, including the United States. Despite slow results in the market, the sportsbook is determined to keep pushing and continually expand its footprint in the regulated sports betting market.

The partnership between ESPN BET and PENN Entertainment has also made ESPN BET an official partner to the Washington Capitals, Wizards, and Mystics. The sportsbook expects a market size of approximately $300 million in Washington D.C. after launching its sportsbook app.
