Speeding Mercedes Driver Faces Penalties in Arnsberg
In an effort to make roads safer, the Hochsauerlandkreis Police Department conducted a speed check on Altes Feld street in Arnsberg on September 4, 2025. During this check, a Mercedes was observed exceeding the speed limit.
According to Police Chief Superintendent Victor Ocansey, regular speed checks are a key component of traffic safety work. He emphasized that speeding endangers everyone and is the number one cause of accidents.
The permitted maximum speed on Altes Feld street is 50 km/h. However, the Mercedes was clocked at a speed of 138 km/h, with an excess speed of 83 km/h after deducting the prescribed tolerance.
The driver of the Mercedes is an 18-year-old man from the Siegen-Wittgenstein district. He is currently in his probationary period. As a result of this offense, he faces a fine of 800 euros, two points in Flensburg, a three-month driving ban, and an extension of his probationary period by two years.
The Hochsauerlandkreis Police Department's traffic safety work is aimed at saving lives. The head of the traffic team in the department was not publicly specified. However, the focus of traffic checks is on targeted checks throughout the year, as stated by Police Chief Superintendent Victor Ocansey.
