Sony's DPT-RP1/CP1 Digital Paper now supports Android and Google Play Services.

The Sony Digital Paper devices, the DPT-RP1 and DPT-CP1, are now capable of accessing the full Google Play experience, thanks to a new add-on pack and an update to Android 5.1.

Each Digital Paper device comes with a unique serial number, which is required to unlock it with the purchased add-on pack. Once the pack is purchased and the device's serial number is provided, users receive unlock firmware that enables the full Google Play functionality.

With this update, users can now unlock their devices and access a new menu option called "apps". From here, they can access and install various apps from the Google Play Store, expanding the capabilities of their Digital Paper devices.

The Google Play Service for Sony Digital Paper provides an additional layer of functionality to the stock Digital Paper experience. It enhances the user experience by offering a wider range of apps, transforming the device into a versatile tool for both work and leisure.

However, it's important to note that only advanced users or specialized technicians with expertise in rooting and modifying Sony Digital Paper devices can unlock the DPT-RP1 or DPT-CP1 running Android 5.1 to add full Google Play functionality.

Despite these advancements, the Digital Paper device continues to perform normally after updating to Android 5.1. The primary functionality of the device remains unchanged, ensuring that users can still enjoy the smooth, paper-like experience that Digital Paper is known for.

In summary, the addition of the Google Play Service and the unlocking of the full Google Play experience on the Sony Digital Paper DPT-RP1 and DPT-CP1 devices opens up a world of possibilities for these devices. However, it's essential to remember that purchasing an add-on pack is required to unlock this functionality, and only advanced users should attempt to unlock their devices.
