Sony Bolsters Web3 Expansion Through 'Soneium for All' Accelerator Program
Sony Block Solutions Labs (SBSL) has announced the launch of a new incubator initiative called "Soneium For All." The program, which is specifically tailored for Web3 developers, aims to attract a diverse array of talent who can bring compelling consumer and gaming applications to the Soneium platform.
The strategic alignment with Astar Network and Startale Cloud Services enhances the program's value proposition by providing complementary strengths in infrastructure management and blockchain interoperability. This collaboration will create a more conducive environment for decentralized application (dApp) developers.
Selected teams will benefit from financial support mechanisms, including a US$60,000 grant pool for applications that utilize Astar Network's ASTR token. Additionally, participating projects may attract further capital through the Sony Innovation Fund.
The incubator offers a blend of technical support, community reach, and financial backing to accelerate the transition of creative Web2 ideas into Web3 realities. Selected projects will also gain access to Soneium's established blockchain ecosystem with over 7 million users, $215 million TVL, and 1.5 million transactions per day.
The initiative reflects Sony's broader ambitions to establish a leading presence in blockchain-driven digital experiences. By bridging the gap between traditional tech and decentralized ecosystems, Sony is aiming to cultivate a new wave of blockchain-based applications that resonate with mainstream audiences.
Applications for the incubator officially opened on June 9, 2025, with the selection of winning projects expected to be finalized by the end of July. The program is a significant step towards Sony's vision of user-centric innovation, with potential to redefine how entertainment and digital interaction evolve in a decentralized world.
Participants in the "Soneium For All" incubator program will also gain professional mentorship. The organizations involved in the partnership include infrastructure partners like Blockscout, Chainlink, Dynamic, Orochi Network, Privy, Redstone, SQD, Stork Network, Terminal 3, and Zerion; auditing and security partners such as Areta Market, Cyfrin Audits, Nethermind, Oak Security, and Odin Audit; and other key partners including Antier Solutions, Common.xyz, Guild.xyz, and Superboard.
Through this initiative, Sony is expected to attract a diverse array of developers who can bring compelling consumer and gaming applications to the Soneium platform. The program will support development efforts on Soneium, Sony's Ethereum Layer-2 blockchain. The incubator's design suggests a long-term vision centered on user-centric innovation, with potential to redefine how entertainment and digital interaction evolve in a decentralized world.
