In an unfortunate incident on Monday evening, a 18-year-old cyclist was involved in a traffic accident on TalstraΓe in Jena. The cyclist collided into the back of a Mercedes transporter, resulting in injuries that required hospitalisation.
According to reports, the cyclist was using a smartphone during his ride, which is believed to have caused the accident. The driver of the Mercedes transporter, who was 25 years old, was attempting to park at the time of the incident. Both the cyclist's bike and the Mercedes transporter sustained damage as a result of the collision.
