Six companies forcibly shuttered due to lack of legitimate business licenses
In Bacolod City, six business establishments were shut down on Friday, August 29, 2025, due to violations of City Ordinance 565, Series of 2011, or the Revised Revenue Code. The closures occurred in Barangays 13, 15, 17, and 31.
The Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) and City Legal Office (CLO) carried out the enforcement, closing down a department store, pastry shop, salon, dressed chicken plant, and several boarding houses. The closures were in accordance with Section 65, Article 20 of the City Ordinance, which states that businesses must have a valid business permit to operate.
Prior to the closure order, notices were already issued to the establishments. The owners and representatives were warned against resuming operations without proper permits, or they may face additional sanctions.
According to BPLO records, at least 43 business establishments in Bacolod are operating without a business permit. City officials, led by Mayor Rayos, have vowed to continue the enforcement of closure orders this week.
As of now, there is no information available about the owners of the closed businesses in Bacolod City on Friday, August 29, 2025. The city government encourages all businesses to comply with the requirements and obtain the necessary permits to avoid similar closure orders in the future.
