Fabio Silva Joins Borussia Dortmund on Permanent Deal

Fabio Silva, the young Portuguese striker, has officially joined Borussia Dortmund on a permanent deal, ending his tenure with Wolverhampton Wanderers. The transfer fee for Silva was reportedly over €19.6m (£17m).

Silva, who was under contract with Wolverhampton, has signed a five-year deal at Signal Iduna Park. The 20-year-old striker, who previously struggled to make an impact at Wolves, is now eager to settle in quickly and give his best to help Dortmund be successful.

Silva's impressive career began at Porto, where he won a league and cup double. He also made history as Porto's youngest-ever debutant in 2019.

The young striker scored 10 goals in 22 LaLiga starts for Las Palmas last season, his best scoring season in Europe's top five leagues. This impressive form has not gone unnoticed, with Dortmund's sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, describing Silva as a hard-working, success-driven striker, and a valuable addition to the team.

Kehl also highlighted Silva's versatility, stating that he can be used in multiple positions. This adaptability, combined with his quality, intensity, and pace, makes Silva an exciting prospect for Dortmund.

Silva is equally thrilled about his move, describing Borussia Dortmund as one of the most prestigious clubs in Europe. He will wear the number 21 shirt for Dortmund and will now play alongside the likes of Serhou Guirassy, Maximilian Beier, Karim Adeyemi, and Julien Duranville.

Dortmund will face Union Berlin in their first home game of the Bundesliga campaign on Sunday, providing Silva with an immediate opportunity to make an impact in his new club.

Silva's journey to Dortmund has not been straightforward. He spent time on loan at Anderlecht, PSV, Rangers, and Las Palmas before securing a permanent move to the German giants. Despite these challenges, Silva remains proud and excited to be part of Borussia Dortmund.
