Sighting of Hero Glamour 125 Prototype Equipped with Automatic Driving System: Could Radically Alter the Commuting Bike Experience?

The motorcycle industry is abuzz with excitement as Hero MotoCorp, one of India's leading manufacturers, has been testing a next-generation Hero Glamour 125 with a surprising feature - cruise control. If confirmed, this could make the Glamour 125 the first budget bike in India to boast such technology.

Typical commuter hardware, including a telescopic front fork, enclosed chain cover, single-piece seat, and saree guard, are retained in the new model. However, the switchgear has been refreshed to accommodate the cruise control toggle, hinting at the bike's tech-led focus.

The design of the next-generation Hero Glamour 125, as revealed through spy shots (Image Source: Rushlane), closely resembles the current model, with LED turn indicators adding a modern touch. The bike also boasts a new full-digital color LCD cluster, further emphasising its tech-oriented approach.

Cruise control is usually reserved for premium motorcycles, priced above ₹2 lakh. The possible debut of this feature on the Glamour 125, a sub-₹1 lakh commuter, marks a shift in strategy prioritising rider convenience and tech-led value in the mass-market space.

The inclusion of cruise control on the Glamour 125 could be a landmark move, pushing the boundaries of what buyers expect from budget bikes. However, it's important to note that Hero MotoCorp has not officially confirmed the model's identity.

The test unit of the next-generation Hero Glamour 125 was recently spotted on public roads, and if reports are to be believed, a likely test drive occurred by August 2025. Detailed reviews and top speed tests are expected to be available from mid to late August 2025.

The new direction for one of Hero's bestselling commuter models has sparked speculation, with the tech upgrades suggesting a focus on added convenience and flair for urban and semi-urban riders. The Hero Mavrick 440, a more expensive model, does not have cruise control, further emphasising the Glamour 125's unique selling point.

If the Hero Glamour 125 does indeed debut with cruise control, it could revolutionise the budget bike segment, offering a blend of affordability, convenience, and technology that could attract a wider audience. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development.
