New Gastronomy Boom Hits Karlsruhe

Karlsruhe's vibrant and diverse local gastronomy scene continues to thrive, with several new openings gracing the city. Among the latest additions are Cheesy Doner, Goldies, Boka-Bar, and Bowld, each bringing its unique flavour to the city centre.

Cheesy Doner, situated at Amalienstraße 49, brings a taste of Berlin to Karlsruhe with its hearty, refined doner dishes, often seasoned with a kick of chili. Since its opening on August 11, it has been drawing in doner fans eager for a satisfying snack.

Goldies, found at Erbprinzenstraße 27, is the brainchild of Vladislav Gachyn and Kajo Hiesl, the same duo behind the popular Goldies branch in Berlin. The urban flair of Goldies has now made its way to Karlsruhe, offering smashed burgers, cheese sauce, DJ sound, and drinks. The official opening took place on August 2, 2025.

The Boka-Bar, located on Ludwig-Wilhelm-Straße in the Oststadt, stands out for its creative name, representing Bernhardusplatz, Oststadt, and Karlsruhe. This new establishment welcomes all guests, including families, couples, and groups of friends. A playground adjacent to the Boka-Bar ensures that parents can relax and enjoy a drink while their children play.

Bowld, which has taken over the premises of the former Dean & David at Kaiserstraße 223a, offers fresh bowls to go, perfect for lunch breaks or quick snacks.

In addition to these, Yangguofu, a Chinese chain, has opened at Kaiserstraße 172 and specializes in Malatang - a spicy, individually composed soup. Guests can choose their own ingredients, select their broth, and spiciness level, and have everything cooked fresh behind the counter.

These new openings cater to gourmets, explorers, and anyone looking for something new, further demonstrating the lively and diverse local gastronomy scene in the Fächerstadt. Karlsruhe's city dwellers now have many new places to indulge, try, and discover. The city is currently experiencing a gastronomy boom, and it's an exciting time to be a food lover in Karlsruhe.
