Shifting weather patterns expected in the forthcoming week
North Rhine-Westphalia is set for a changeable weather week, according to the German Weather Service (DWD). Unlike the mostly sunny and dry conditions experienced on Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday is expected to bring showers and possible thunderstorms.
On Monday, the northeastern part of NRW will have mostly sunny weather with some cloud cover, while high temperatures will range from 22 to 25 degrees Celsius, with high-altitude areas around 17 degrees. Tuesday's forecast in NRW calls for mostly sunny and dry conditions, with temperatures expected to reach 25 to 28 degrees Celsius, and highland areas around 22 degrees.
However, the weather on Wednesday is not predicted to be dry throughout the day. The DWD forecasts increasing cloud cover in NRW, and some of the showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday may be heavy. The first showers in North Rhine-Westphalia after the week begins are expected on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. High-altitude areas in NRW may experience temperatures around 22 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.
In a surprising twist, while Tuesday's weather is expected to be free of showers in the afternoon, there may be isolated showers later in the day. On Wednesday, showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the day.
As the week progresses, temperatures are expected to cool down, with high temperatures on Wednesday ranging from 24 to 27 degrees Celsius. By the weekend, temperatures are expected to be around 22 degrees Celsius.
So, grab your umbrellas and prepare for a changeable week ahead in North Rhine-Westphalia!
