Severe two-car collision results in critical injuries for both parties involved
Accident on K 117 Road: Two Vehicles Involved, Road Closed for Investigation
On September 24, 2024, at 2:30 PM, a serious accident occurred on the K 117 road between Höhr-Grenzhausen and Alsbach. The incident involved two vehicles: an Opel and a Mercedes.
According to the available information, the 20-year-old driver of the Opel was travelling from Höhr-Grenzhausen towards Alsbach when his car skidded out of control in a right curve, colliding with an oncoming Mercedes.
Sadly, the 76-year-old woman driving the Mercedes and her 87-year-old passenger were injured in the accident. Both were taken to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, the 15-year-old passenger in the Opel was unharmed.
The police station responsible for the accident investigation is the Police Station Höhr-Grenzhausen. The K 117 had to be closed for the duration of the investigation. Both vehicles involved in the accident, the Opel and the Mercedes, were totaled and had to be towed away.
The estimated damage from the accident is at least 20,000 EUR. The police are still investigating the cause of the accident and no further information has been provided at this time.
