Seventeen fresh businesses made it through the start-up BW Pre-Seed program qualification process.

The Start-up BW Pre-Seed program, a joint effort between the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor, and Tourism, and the L-Bank, has approved 17 new companies for potential funding. This early-stage funding program serves as a central decision-making body, providing young companies with crucial support during their initial stages.

Each approved start-up can expect to receive a funding of up to 160,000 euros, with the possibility of exceptional cases doubling the total funding to a maximum of 640,000 euros. However, specific information about the companies that have qualified for the program in the given time frame is not yet available.

To be eligible for funding, start-ups must have a Baden-Württemberg connection for the entire funding period and their business idea or product must be innovative. Mentoring by a mentor partner is also a requirement for funding.

Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, Minister of Economic Affairs, Labor, and Tourism, expressed optimism about the economic future of Baden-Württemberg, emphasising the importance of such initiatives in fostering innovation and supporting young entrepreneurs.

Edith Weymayr, Chairwoman of the L-Bank, urged all companies to submit their funding applications promptly, encouraging them not to miss the chance to be funded by Start-up BW Pre-Seed. The start-ups can be accessed via the External: Start-ups link.

It's worth noting that a co-investor contributes between 40,000 euros and 160,000 euros to the funding. The central decision-making body for funding eligibility includes representatives from the Ministry, L-Bank, mentor partner, and state-owned companies or state-affiliated participations.

The liquidity needs of start-ups are particularly high in their early founding phase, making programs like Start-up BW Pre-Seed crucial for their survival and growth. The diverse ideas and commitment of young entrepreneurs make these start-ups a promising addition to the Baden-Württemberg economy.
