Seven individuals, including a detention center officer from North Carolina, have been taken into custody during a narcotics investigation.
In a significant development, several individuals have been arrested and charged in connection with a drug conspiracy and continuing criminal enterprise in Lumberton, North Carolina. The investigation, which uncovered a broader conspiracy involving individuals both inside and outside the detention center, led to the arrest of Landon Strickland, a former Detention Center Officer, on Thursday.
Strickland, along with Jamie West (Britt), Jamie Sirmans, Joshua Sirmans, Dylan Sirman, Jaylen West, and Don Christopher Hawes, all from Lumberton, were charged with felony conspiracy and continuing criminal enterprise. Strickland was given a $450,000 secured bond, while the others were each given a $50,000 secured bond.
The investigation, which began after illegally obtained drugs were found in an inmate's possession at the Robeson County Detention Center on Aug. 21, resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine (Schedule II) and suboxone strips (Schedule III). Weapons were also seized during the investigation.
On Friday, Aug. 22, Kenryn McMillian, 42, of Maxton, was arrested and charged with felony possession of controlled substance in a jail/prison and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
