"Serena and Lily's 'Holiday Home' is Brimming with Fashionable Design Concepts to Emulate, and Here Are Our Top 3 Picks"
In a delightful collaboration, home decor brand Serena and Lily partnered with six esteemed interior design firms to transform their stores into enchanting Christmas wonderlands. Each designer brought their unique touch, creating a 'Holiday House' takeover that is nothing short of magical.
The Birmingham Design Store, styled by Sissy Yellen Living, showcases a charming blend of rattan details and gingham themes. Yellen's design exudes a more pared-back, casual feel, with the woven texture of rattan items, such as lampshades, adding a warm and inviting ambiance. A decorative cushion upholstered in the same pale blue-checked gingham print is available for purchase at $58, and a chaise-lounge in the same print retails for $578.
Javier Burkle, the creative mind behind several Serena and Lily stores, embraced the fringed trend wholeheartedly. In the Dallas Design Shop, a deep, navy sofa was adorned with a fringe trim, while the Birmingham location boasts fringed gingham stools that Burkle particularly loves.
M+M Interior Design, responsible for the Winnetka store, created a comforting space with soft blues and mauves. The Hawthorne print, a subtly festive floral pattern, was used extensively, and when combined with the brown and cream checked print, the fringe brings an element of surprise and intrigue that breaks up the pattern. The Hawthorne print fabric is available for purchase at $108/yard.
The resurgence of the fringe furniture trend is evident in several of Serena and Lily's stores during their Christmas decorations, giving a boho, '70s style feel that aligns with their California beach aesthetic. Leslie Martin and Kim Meardon of M+M Interior Design explained that their design was inspired by the idea of a cozy little cocoon, reminiscent of snuggling in bed with Christmas pajamas.
In the Palo Alto store, Kari McIntosh Design created a love letter to Scotland, celebrating Caledonian maximalism. Rich textures, plenty of patterns, and lots of fringe were used to achieve a bold and eclectic design. Fringing was also added to both the sofas and cushions in this store design.
The participating design firms for this project included Alexa Hampton, Jamie Drake, Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Miles Redd, Nate Berkus, and Barclay Butera, each creating a unique holiday vignette reflecting their signature styles, ranging from traditional and cozy to bold and eclectic decorations.
Serena and Lily's homeware collections are renowned for their timeless, warm, and neutral color palettes, as well as their beachy, modern coastal aesthetic. This collaboration has only served to elevate their offerings, providing customers with a diverse range of festive and stylish options for their homes this holiday season. As Wallpaper was used by several designers to add character and transport the viewer to a specific setting, it's clear that this 'Holiday House' takeover is a testament to the power of collaboration and the magic of Christmas decorations.
