Seniors fall victim to fraudulent plumbing services

In the quiet town of Gelsenkirchen, Germany, an elderly man found himself the victim of a robbery on Sunday, July 22, 2025, at around 14:50.

The incident began when a man entered the victim's apartment, claiming he needed to access the apparatus under the sink. The elderly man, however, became suspicious and tried to approach the intruder. But he was blocked by one of the suspects in the bathroom.

Meanwhile, another suspect entered the bedroom and removed two cash boxes from a closet. In the ensuing chaos, one of the suspects pushed the 80-year-old man to the ground and both suspects fled the apartment with one of the cash boxes.

The suspects were approximately 1.80 meters tall, with one of them wearing a distinctive red work jacket with white reflectors. One of the suspects also had a black mustache. The ages of the suspects were estimated to be around 30 to 35 years old.

The Gelsenkirchen resident was taken to the hospital for further medical treatment due to slight injuries. The police are seeking witnesses who may have information about the suspects.
