Senior Week Scheduled for September 15-20 for Grades 11 and 12
Wiesbaden is gearing up for two senior-centric events this year, with the 31st Senior Week taking place from September 15th to 20th, and the 29th Senior Week from June 19th to 23rd. Both events, organised by the Senior Council, are under the patronage of Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende and are designed for seniors, or Generation 60+.
The opening ceremony of Senior Week 2021 will take place at the Grand Banquet Hall of the Town Hall, Schlossplatz 6, on Monday, September 13th, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The event will see the participation of Angelika Dortmann, the chairwoman of the Senior Council, Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende, Dr. Jürgen Scholz, the Director of the Wiesbaden Senior Center, as well as Dr. Gerhard Obermayr and Social Department Head Dr. Patricia Becher.
The week-long events promise to be as varied as ever, with a host of activities planned. These include Bingo, wine tasting, a guided tour through the city forest, a visit to Hessenpark, and a live concert by "Boys of 69" at Bürgerhaus Sonnenberg. A highlight of the program is a live concert, scheduled for an unspecified day between Tuesday and Friday.
In addition, Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende has promised a colorful program, including a ship trip on the Rhine. Registration for individual program points opens on August 18th.
The 28th Senior Week, scheduled for June 27th to June 29th, will also be held in Wiesbaden and will follow a similar format.
Whether you're a fan of music, art, history, or simply enjoy socializing, there's something for everyone at these Senior Weeks. So, mark your calendars and get ready for an unforgettable experience in Wiesbaden!
