Senior Citizens Fall Prey to Fraudulent Activities
In Weilerswist, Germany, an elderly man was the victim of a street fraud incident on Wednesday, September 3. The event took place outside a bank in Peter-Vey-StraΓe, around 10:30 AM.
According to reports, the elderly man was tricked into exchanging two 2-euro coins for two 1-euro coins by an unknown individual. The fraudster, described as a male, 35 to 37 years old, slim build, and having black hair, then approached an alleged bank employee outside a bank in Mechernich.
The alleged bank employee asked the elderly man for his EC card and PIN, claiming that a mid-four-digit euro transaction had been debited from his account. After the exchange, the unknown individual left in an unknown direction with the bank card, and it was later discovered that the amount stolen was in the low three-digit euro range.
The unknown individual then entered the bank, went to the ATM, and withdrew a low four-digit euro amount. As of now, there is no publicly available information about the identity of the fraudster.
